Risk assessment for pharmaceutical industry in uncertain environment: An integrated multi-criteria decision-making approach

The pharmaceutical industry is the backbone of healthcare system for any country. However, this faces various risks, which hamper its efficient working in providing life-saving medicines/services to people. In context, purpose study improve resilience and performance (PI) with identification, assessment supply chain (SC) risks. A case illustration has also been presented Indian context. utilizes an extensive literature survey Delphi method identifying, finalizing, classifying risks into seven categories. Intuitionistic Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (IF-AHP) used analyze prioritize determine their criticality. results show that three most important are financial, supplier, demand/customer/market. Within these critical sub-risks found be loss customers, raw material (RM) issues, bad reputation company, respectively. provides managers list PI consideration. present need mitigated enhanced industry. emphasizes importance interconnection between SC partners better risk management.
